| General Overview | A free spirit, Mackenzie, prefers to be called Mac. She is full of fun and life. She loves exploring new places, learning new things and has a major artistic bent which translates into her work. Mac loves bright colours and eclectic art but she also loves going to music festivals. She is friendly and makes friends easily. At high school she was one of the ‘popular’ girls. Mac does however have a dark side, and can get depressed like anyone else. Contact with her mother can often cause Mac to be on a ‘down’. She credits Jackson and her friends with keeping her level. |

| Personal History | 1982 Born in 1982, Feb 29th. To James and Carrie Ellis. The middle child of 3 children. James and Carrie’s marriage was fraught with turmoil. While considered fairly well to do, above the normal average family in income due to family wealth and current work of the husband,Carrie had been raised to expect to be given everything she wanted and she fully expected James and the children to pamper her and she refused to breastfeed any of the children, claiming it would ruin her figure. James works in Banking and by the time Mackenzie was two, he was a branch manager. 1985 Youngest brother Geoffrey is born in August 1995. Matthew and Mackenzie are sent to their paternal grandparents for 3 months so Carrie could ‘adjust’. When Mackenzie was 15 her father explained that Carrie had left the family and then returned. September 1988 - June 1989 Grade One Started Elementary School. Classes were separated by Last Name Alphabetical. She met Jackson Dalton in her class. They are mere acquaintances and classmates at this time. September 1989 - June 1990 Grade Two Mackenzie finds herself spending time with her paternal grandparents on weekends as her parents work out their differences. September 1992- June 1993 Grade Five Starts year 5 - Middle school - Her mother tries to get Mackenzie to try out for a stage production in the theater district. Mackenzie shows no interest. Her mother does not speak to her for weeks. Mac finds herself staying at friends houses a lot over the next few months on weekends. All arranged by her father to keep Mac from the chaos in the family. She later learns that Matthew is doing the same, and Geoffrey spends time with their grandparents. September 1994- June 1995 Grade Seven Her parents separated just after Christmas in 1994. Her mother walked out of the family home, leaving James with the three children. James had to explain that this time, he was not taking Carrie back to the three children. Matthew took it better than Mackenzie and Geoffrey. He had given up on his mother ever seeing him. Mackenzie and her closest friends form new relationships with other children in their class. Several of the football players and several of the Cheerleaders form a group of friends that’s lasts to graduation. Among them is Jackson Dalton and Mackenzie Ellis. September 1995- June 1996 Grade Eight Her mother and father’s divorce is finalised in November 1995, her mother not contesting custody of the three children. She got weekend visitation and rarely picked them up September 1996 - June 1997 Grade Nine Mackenzie started High school, surprised to find a lot of her friends from Elementary and Middle School had also started at the same school. Jackson Dalton among them. She and Jackson became closer in this year as they and their group of friends navigated their freshman year of High School. James begins seeing Marie Cassan in late 1997. Eldest brother graduates in June 1997 from high school and leaves home. Matthew Ellis goes to Atlanta Georgia and only keeps in contact with Mackenzie, he tries to contact Geoffrey but Geoffrey refuses to have anything to do with Matthew. September 1997 - June 1998 Grade Ten Started dating Jackson Dalton much to her mother’s dismay, however Mackenzie’s father and older brother have no issue with the couple. Mother remarried on Feb 14th of 1998. Father defended himself in another custody dispute, this time for Mackenzie and her younger brother. Carrie is unable to take custody of Mackenzie who refuses to have anything to do with Carrie but Geoffrey requests to live with his mother at age 13. The court grants joint custody of Geoffrey to both parents He splits his time between them 50/50. September 1998-June 1999 Grade Eleven Marie moves in December with James and the family. Geoffrey is very angry about this. He puts locks on his door and refuses to speak with Marie. Father Remarries in mid 1999 and Geoffrey runs away to their mother's house. Mackenzie has no issue with her new Stepmother and Matthew reconnects with their father at their wedding. Geoffrey does not attend. Mackenzie is spending most weekends with Jackson and his family and is rarely home during the week due to her school commitments and spending time with him. Jackson joins the school Varsity squad as a wide receiver. Mackenzie is a cheerleader and their group of friends is pretty solid with little conflict September 1999 - June 2000 Grade Twelve Commences Senior Year, Mackenzie and Jackson consummate their relationship in their senior Year. Graduated from high school with Jackson. Is on the honor roll and is head cheerleader at the time of graduation. Accepts a place at the Institute of Culinary Education despite knowing it will take her away from Jackson and her family. In September Mackenzie commenced at the Institute Culinary Education in NEW YORK - Dreams of opening her own cafe and catering business one day. September 2000-June 2001 Mackenzie commenced at the Institute Culinary Education in NEW YORK - Dreams of opening her own cafe and catering business one day. Corresponds with Boyfriend Jackson Dalton who joined the Coast Guard and was based in Virginia. Mackenzie and Jackson manage to catch up at Christmas time, and continue their correspondence by letter. September 2001-June 2002 Mackenzie takes a week off from school and goes to Virginia to surprise James. She is unable to see him for more than a 5 minute block, so spends the week exploring Lexington and taking polaroid selfies for him. She leaves them in an envelope for him. September 2002 -June 2003 At Christmas 2002, they discussed their future after she finished college and where they wanted to go when Jackson finished with the Coast Guard. Agreeing that they wanted to be with each other, they agreed to look for work in their hometown and move in together when they could afford to. Carrie Morgan attempts reconciliation with Matthew and Mackenzie. Matthew rebuffs the attempt but Mackenzie, allows it. Geoffrey however does not want anything to do with Mackenzie and Matthew. Matthew marries Cassandra in Mid 2003 and Mackenzie uses her skills and creates them a wonderful wedding cake. September 2003-June 2004 Sets about in her final year to top the class in all her courses. Finished her courses at the Institute of Culinary Education with honors and returned to Savannah. Continues to receive letters from Jackson as he has been deployed witht he US Navy. June 2004 - 2005 Mackenzie commences work with a small catering company in Savannah but soon realises that the work is not what she expected as the boss, often claiming ideas and designs of her employees as her own to clients. But Mackenzie needed the work so she stayed with it. December 2004: Carrie Ellis-Morgan attempts to file a restraining order against Jackson on behalf of her daughter. Mackenzie is unaware until Jackson is served at his parents house and Mackenzie loses her shit at the poor police officer who works with Jackson and who went to the same school as them when he served the paperwork. Moves in with Jackson they pick up where their life left off just prior to Christmas. The Restraining order is quashed by Mackenzie. And she gives her mother absolute hell. 2005-2010 Moves to Michigan with Jackson, she purchased a opens Café Papillon - She and Jackson are co-owners. Café Papillon is a Gourmet Coffee, Food Restaurant. And is open from 5:30 AM until 5PM Monday to Friday and from 6AM to 1PM Saturday and Sunday In 2009 when Jackson resigned his commission, they started planning their new home. 2010 The world goes to shit, they flee across Lake Michigan towards Sheboygan Wisconsin in Jackson’s truck with their caravan and leaving their house, the cafe and life behind. |
