Hello, Survivors!
Thanks to the efforts of Ray (who writes for Alonzo Blazevic), we have a new and improved manifest that better fits the needs of our particular sim.
We're organized by families and those who are single are listed under 'The Unattached'. If your situation changes and you become part of someone's family, then we'll switch you around.
Suffixes:
========
Military designations are no longer going to be shown on the manifest and you'll see that they've been removed for you -- we're doing that for two reasons. One, it's no longer a part of our reality and two,…

Congratulations, Survivors!
We started our first episode, Bangor or Bust, Saturday, 15 April 2023. Tomorrow, nearly a year later, we will finally finish it. For those who like stats, we have, as a group, written 332 posts for this episode, 34 of them in the past month. And now, nearly a year later, its time to move on. There will be a short post tomorrow explaining what happens to the safe zone and after that, Bangor or Bust will be closed for posting and we'll be moving into the new episode (I'm thinking about "Winter is Coming" as a title).…

Hello, Survivors,
Been having a couple days of good weather here, sort of like the first promise of Spring, and its been lovely. Also, Watson, my cat, discovered Cat TV (its a YouTube channel) and he loves it. For a cat who absolutely refuses to go anywhere near the outside world, he's been mighty brave swatting at those birds.
Sim Statistics
No changes in the number of writers this month so we're still holding at eight. We are losing a couple of NPCs though -- Courtney, Jordan, Father Dominic I believe. Not sure about Bao (been quiet since the delivery)…

Hello, Survivors,
Okay, its been an embarrassingly long time since I've done this so, let me start by offering my profound apologies. Had a bit of a Star Trek sim burnout going on and a lot of things fell by the wayside. Things are better now and I'm totally back.
Sim Statistics
We added two survivors, Stephen Wolff and Reuben Baptiste. That brought us up to nine writers. Course, Stephen dropped out again so we have added one new writer -- which means two service dogs and three military personnel. The world has never seemed safer, eh?
You know, we…

Mission: Safe Harbor
Posted on Mon May 12th, 2025 @ 9:15am by New York Survivor Amythyst & New York Survivor Briar Maddox & New York Survivor John ("Dodger") Smith & New York Survivor George Brooks
Amy, despite being on watch for half the night and not having slept well in over 2 days, was up after dawn. Her body clock was pulling all sort of crap. Breakfast, she considered would be simple. She cut up their remaining fruits and slices of bread from the night before and laid it out on the table. Then she went outside to check on the chickens. She looked up. It looked like rain was coming in. She would have to make sure they put out water collection bottles just in case. They had a rainwater tank but always good…

Mission: Escape from the Concrete Grave
Posted on Sun May 11th, 2025 @ 5:20pm by Survivor Roxy Santiago & Leader Connor McLean
The pair had worked hard, packing and hauling supplies down to the garage. Loading what they could into the armored truck, they filled every space cubic inch they could find, even lashing some things to the outside of the vehicle. Finally, when there was absolutely no more room to be found, they stored everything else that they would have to leave in the back of the garage. They pushed a few abandoned cars in front of the cache, to keep it hidden from immediate discovery.
Standing back from their work, Connor took a large gulp of water from the bottle…

The morning sun had barely climbed above the treeline when Serena Reynolds stepped out onto the wraparound porch of the farmhouse, a steaming cup of weak coffee in her hand. The distant sound of chickens clucking, pigs rooting in the dirt, and the soft rush of the creek gave the illusion of peace — but peace was a fleeting thing these days.
She paused, scanning the yard as the first few residents began to stir. They had survived another night. That was something.
Inside, the smell of bread from Mackenzie’s early baking drifted through the halls, mingling with the earthy…

Mission: Safe Harbor
Posted on Fri May 9th, 2025 @ 7:55am by New York Survivor Amythyst & New York Survivor Briar Maddox & New York Survivor John ("Dodger") Smith & New York Survivor George Brooks
Evening was falling as the children gathered in the main house. Outside, the forest creaked and whispered with the wind, but inside, the farmhouse had begun to feel like something it hadn't in a long time: alive.
A fire crackled in the large stone hearth of the living room, casting golden light across the worn rugs and softening the corners of old furniture. The heat took the edge off the chill that crept in at dusk, and shadows danced across the newly filled bookshelves. Amythyst — Amy — had made sure to pack every book she could carry from the…

Mission: Safe Harbor
Posted on Thu May 8th, 2025 @ 2:03pm by New York Survivor Amythyst & New York Survivor Briar Maddox & New York Survivor John ("Dodger") Smith & New York Survivor George Brooks
As George slowly piloted their yacht up to the long dock with attached boathouse on the island they had selected, Amythyst stood at the bow her machete in hand letting her gaze sweep the island. No movement. None at all.
As the boat bumped against the dock, she jumped.off the bow into the wooden boards and crouched.
Amy left the others to stay on the boat, using the argument that George was needed to pilot the boat, Dodger was the main protector and she was the only one able to be risked. She moved slowly in the dawn light up…

The sun has set, and the quiet is settling into the walls — or as quiet as it ever gets with this many people under one roof. The fire in the hearth is down to glowing coals. Dinner’s been cleaned up. Most of us are asleep, and the rest are pretending to be. I should be too. But sleep feels like a fragile thing lately. Like if I let myself slip too deep, I might miss something vital.
We had our first full…

Definitely official, even if Sandwich will not admit it. He has an attachment for Thea. At the evening meal and campfire meeting I caught him dividing his plate in half and giving Thea the the half he separated. He then ate half of his portion and feed Kenny the other half. I plan to say something to him, I'll offer to feed Kenny half my food share if he insist on giving Thea half of his food share. I am amazed how he treats Thea, almost like our mother, or us girls. He also seems…

Reuben talked with Catalina when she had joined with him in helping the group. During the stops for the evening on the way to Hale's property Catalina filled him in on how the ranch and family were doing. Apparently their father was quick to realize the situation and started the process of fortifying the ranch, He had the hands bring the cattle in closer for the rest of the year and would decide in mid spring what to do about how to safely graze them. He and the hands also began working on the barb wire around the ranch.
Reuben…

Well found Sandwich, he deviated from his emergency escape route and hookup with a group of survivors. Not sure about the group but they appear to be decent folks. The leader, Hale Stratton, is very similar to Sandwich; dark, brooding and all military. I suspect there is more under the man other than being a Major in the Rangers. I cannot quite sure what it is yet; but never mind that. Sandwich has decided to continue travelling with the group, so I am tagging along as well. He states he will decide what to do…

At least I think it is. Been a long and lonely trip back east since I departed from CeeBee and her beau. Not sure how father is going to react to him when they get to the homestead, if they get to the homestead, which I am sure CeeBee will accomplish. CeeBee’s beau is a skinny ass nerd, hell the Wyoming winds would most likely bowl him over. His one saving grace in my eyes, he was studying Pre-veterinary Medicine before the SHTF. All well last father requested on the portable Ham radio was for…
